Galaktika v Kalifornii 2014

Events  ·  August 15 2015

In the summer 2014 we nipped out to a residency program Regular line Topoľčany Santa Cruz, which was held in the beautiful California.
The project was organized by a multimedia space for contemporary culture Platform 1-12 from the city of Topoľčany, which took care of exporting the best of contemporary Slovak art. The project involved seven outstanding Slovak artists. The visual artists Erik Šille, Veronika Šramátyová and Lucia Tallová, graphic designer Matej Lacko, dancer and visual artist Zuzana Žabková, composer and musician Fero Király took an opportunity to use the art studios in a private residence near Santa Cruz from 3 to 20 July 2014. Among them, Lenka Sršňová represented clothing design.
In the creative and very pleasant environment, the collection Galaktika 2014 was enriched with new summer pieces inspired by the beautiful beaches and ocean life. Long light dress and comfortable sarong wraps complete the helmets of a typical American shape with visors covered in colourful materials with an original design. Naturally, we shot some photos for the editorial, which was made in the beautiful California beaches, the sequoia forests and the streets of San Francisco.
At the end of the stay the models were presented in a form of performance within the opening of the exhibition I CAME I SAW, which took place in the Tannery Art Centre in Santa Cruz.
We would like to thank the team of Pravidelná linka for the amazing outcomes since they gave us the opportunity to participate in the residence in Santa Cruz; and, of course, our thanks also goes to the whole crew of the Regular Line that made our stay in California a big adventure...
